Little Red Door experiences second recent change in leadership

Little Red Door cancer agency is conducting its second search for an executive director in six months,
since Mary Beth Tuohy resigned in March.

Tuohy, owner of the not-for-profit consulting firm MB Tuohy & Associ
ates, joined locally based Little Red Door as an interim director in September, after John Aleshire left the position to become
executive director of Humane Society of Indianapolis, board President Ryan Judy said.

Tuohy agreed in December to stay in the position but then resigned effective March 13. Judy said
there was no controversy behind Tuohy’s sudden departure. Tuohy did not respond to an e-mail requesting
comment.

Judy relayed
that Tuohy intended to relaunch her consulting business, which gave her more flexibility.

"I and the rest of the board can’t fault her for wanting to spend more time with her family,"
Judy said.

Little Red
Door serves financially strapped cancer patients by providing transportation, wigs and other assistance. It’s a
United Way-certified agency with 10 employees and a budget of $1.5 million.

Judy said a search committee is forming. Little Red Door is looking to form partnerships with
other agencies and expand the level of service to patients, he said.

"One thing we’ll be looking for is someone who has that skill set, collaboration," he
said.

Judy expects to
name an interim director soon.
