Andrew Phipps of Muncie joins a growing list of candidates seeking the GOP nomination for the 6th District seat in next year's election.
Phipps was the unsuccessful Republican nominee for a state Senate seat in 2002 and 2006, The Star Press reported. According to congressional salary tracker LegiStorm, Phipps worked as community relations director for Pence in 2001.
Phipps also is the longtime host of radio and TV programs featuring gospel music.
Former state Rep. Luke Messer of Shelbyville, Columbus real-estate investor Travis Hankins and Richmond financial adviser Don Bates Jr. are also seeking the seat.
