100 Black Men of Indianapolis Inc.
was named the outstanding chapter in the areas of education and mentoring at the 23rd Annual 100 Black Men of America Inc.
conference.
The four-day event held late last month in Atlanta attracted more than 3,000 people, including U.S. Secretary of Education
Arne Duncan and New York Gov. David Paterson.
The local chapter is led by Holbrook Hankinson and was founded in 1984. It serves more than 700 youth annually through mentoring-based
educational programs.
Nationally, 100 Black Men of America was founded in New York City in 1963. The organization has 116 chapters in the United
States, England and the Caribbean.
