The man accused of fatally shooting an Indianapolis police officer pleaded guilty Wednesday morning to murder, robbery and possession of a firearm. If a judge accepts his plea agreement, Thomas Hardy, 61, will face life in prison without parole, plus 40 years. Hardy is accused of shooting officer David Moore, 29, during a routine January 2011 traffic stop and robbing a store the same day. Hardy was on parole but facing other theft charges at the time of the shooting. A formal sentencing hearing is scheduled for April 5.
