Recycling group’s leader changes mind about leaving

The head of the Indiana Recycling Coalition has changed her mind about leaving the group and decided to stay, the coalition announced Thursday.

The environmental group announced Aug. 5 that its executive director, Carey Hamilton, would step down in November after five years at the helm.

In response to her departure, the organization restructured its leadership roles and created the position of director of administration and programs.

The new position will take over many of the day-to-day managerial duties so Hamilton, in her revamped executive director’s role, can focus more on big-picture projects, such as lobbying and development.
