As a subscriber you can listen to articles at work, in the car, or while you work out. Subscribe NowA division of Carmel-based Telamon Corp. has acquired Westbrook Mfg. Inc., a contract manufacturer headquartered in Dayton, Ohio, the companies announced Tuesday.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The acquisition was made by Telemon’s Industrial Solutions division, which provides wire harnesses, electromechanical switches, contract assembly, kitting and third party logistics services to manufacturers.
Westbrook, founded in 1977, makes electro-mechanical assemblies and wiring harnesses for the automotive industry at its manufacturing plant in Fresnillo, Mexico. The company has about 400 workers.
Telamon said the acquisition will not affect operations at either company’s facilities, with the exception of the name change to Telamon.
“We have been looking at the harness industry for a while now,” Telemon Chief Operating Officer Stanley Chen said in a prepared statement. “We believe the transportation market is primed for growth with increasing safety requirements and evolution of telematics. Finding a company with similar operating philosophies and culture that would provide an entry into this market was a challenge. That is why we were excited to find a company of Westbrook’s caliber.”
