Barnes & Thornburg LLP has expanded into Texas by opening a Dallas office.

The Indianapolis-based law firm announced Monday morning that it launched the practice with two attorneys and plans to make additional hires in the coming months.

The firm has now opened five offices since 2009, including locations in Atlanta, Los Angeles and Minneapolis, helping it to grow from a regional to national player. Overall, Barnes & Thornburg has roughly 570 attorneys in 13 locations.

“Our successful track record of expansion underscores growth where the dynamics make sense, and Texas is the latest example of where we see great opportunity,” said Bob Grand, Barnes & Thornburg’s managing partner, in a written statement.

With 230 lawyers in Indianapolis, Barnes & Thornburg is the city’s largest law firm, according to IBJ statistics.
