Locally-based technology consulting firm Allegient LLC on Friday morning announced plans to expand its north-side headquarters and add up to 69 employees before the end of 2018.

Allegient said it would spend $1.3 million to renovate and equip unused office space in its headquarters at 201 W. 103rd St., near North Meridian Street and Interstate 465.

The company said the new jobs are expected to pay more than twice as much as Indiana's average annual wage of $44,500.

Allegient, which also operates an office in Chicago, employs about 240 people overall, including 167 full-time workers in Indiana.

The company provides business and technology services to clients in a variety of sectors, including health care, financial services, manufacturing and education. New hires will include business analysts, developers and architects.

The Indiana Economic Development Corp. offered Allegient up to $1 million in conditional tax credits and up to $200,000 in training grants based on the job-creation plans.

Allegient, founded in 2001, has made two previous incentive agreements with the IEDC.

In 2011, the firm said it would spend $1.7 million to expand its headquarters and add 42 workers to the 59 employees it already had in Indiana. The IEDC offered the company up to $850,000 in tax credits based on the job-creation plans.

In 2013, Allegient said it planned to add 36 employees to its Indiana workforce of 116 as part of a $225,000 expansion. The IEDC said it would provide up to $860,000 in tax credits if the company met the jobs commitment.

The company, which is located in Carmel but has an Indianapolis address, also has been approved for additional incentives from the city of Carmel.

“Looking forward, our vision is to double in size in the next 3-5 years by leveraging the explosion in demand for services in the analytics and big data space," Allegient President Gregg Gallant said in a written statement.
