A Noblesville-based metal fabrication company is planning to invest $6.1 million to expand its headquarters and hire 50 more employees.

Noble Industries Inc. purchased five acres to the south of its existing property at 3333 E. Conner St., just to the east of State Road 37, for a 52,400-square-foot expansion of its 70,000-square-foot facility.

The company provides custom metal parts to automotive, industrial, retail and medical organizations and has customers in 14 states and Canada. The production and warehouse space will be expanded by 39,000 square feet, and 13,400 square feet will be added for more office space.

The addition is expected to be finished by 2018.

Noble Industries, founded in 1968 by William and Anita Parker, has about 65 employees. The average salary for the 50 new positions is expected to be about $37,000.

The city of Noblesville is considering providing the company a partial 10-year real-property tax abatement, and a partial four-year personal-property tax abatement.

The tax breaks would save Noble Industries an estimated total of about $600,000, assuming the company makes a real estate investment of $3.5 million and spends $2.6 million on new manufacturing, logistical and information technology equipment.

The Noblesville City Council could approve the incentives at its March 29 meeting.
