Gov.-elect Eric Holcomb announced Monday he will keep outgoing Gov. Mike Pence’s director of the Office of Management and Budget on in that role.

Micah Vincent was appointed to the role in 2015 by Pence after the resignation of Chris Atkins, who left the state to work at Carmel developer Mainstreet.

The Office of Management and Budget oversees eight state agencies, including the Departments of Revenue and Local Government Finanance, and the State Budget Agency.

“Indiana has enjoyed years of fiscal security, responsible budgeting, and strong budget reserves, and Micah's hard work has been instrumental to those efforts,” Holcomb said in a written statement. "He is a true public servant who has committed himself to good governance. I am excited that with his help we will remain in a lead position nationally."

Previously, Vincent served as the OMB’s general counsel and policy director, and as commissioner of the Indiana Department of Local Government Finance.

He also served the Gov. Mitch Daniels gubernatorial administration as assistant general counsel and policy director for utilities, energy and higher education.

Vincent has degrees from Purdue University and Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law.

Holcomb also named Danny Lopez as his deputy chief of staff. Lopez has previously worked for Holcomb in the lieutenant governor’s office, as well as for retiring U.S. Sen. Dan Coats.

Courtney Carr will continue as adjutant general of the Indiana National Guard. And Carolene Mays-Medley will continue as executive director of the White River State Park.
