Indianapolis-based Freedom Healthworks, which provides business services to physicians who work outside the health insurance system and direct-bill patients, announced on Thursday morning that it plans to add 20 jobs by the end of 2018 and a total of 64 jobs by the end of 2022.

The company, founded last year, says it offers a business platform that offers a clear pricing structure and helps drive patient enrollment. Freedom currently has six employees and serves physician practices with a total of 1,200 patients. It expects to have 12 practices on board with 6,000 patients by the end of this year.

To accommodate its growth, Freedom plans to relocate from its 700-square-foot offices in Nora to more than 2,000 square feet downtown this spring.

“We are excited to plant our company’s roots here,” company co-founder Christopher Habig said in a statement. “Indiana has worked hard to eliminate the regulations and red tape associated with starting a business, and we are thrilled to launch a company in the favorable growth environment.”

Under the company's business model, patients pay a monthly fee averaging $50 to $100 for their physician’s care. Freedom boasts the approach leads to a "significantly enriched doctor-patient relationship."

The Indiana Economic Development Corp. offered Freedom up to $650,000 in  tax credits and $50,000 in training grants based on its job-creation plans. The incentives are performance based, meaning the company can't claim them until workers are hired.
