Mitsch Design said it will to spend almost $2.4 million to expand its offices to 8,824 square feet at the Indiana Design Center on Rangeline Road and add up to 43 employees by 2021. The expansion will almost triple the company's office space.
The expanded space will include a commercial office furniture showroom, high-tech work stations and common areas for employees. A virtual reality studio to help customers visualize design options also will be added.
The firm was founded by owner and president Jeryl Mitsch in 1989. The company doubled its workforce and revenue in 2016, and now employs 27 fulltime workers in Indiana. The company also has an out-of-state office in Atlanta, which it opened last year.
Mitsch Design specializes in multifamily, senior care, corporate, health care and education projects. Its clients include Angie’s List, Dow AgroSciences, Citizens Energy, Eskenazi Health and Delta Faucet.
The firm said it has worked on more than 50 projects in 17 states over the past three years, sparking the recent growth.
The Indiana Economic Development Corp. offered the firm up to $225,000 in conditional tax credits and $75,000 in training grants based on the job-creation plans. The incentives hinge on the company’s ability to meet the hiring goals.
The company said it has begun hiring for positions in sales, showroom coordination, interior design, architecture and procurement.
