Purdue announced Thursday that Ronald Elsenbaumer will become the next chancellor of Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne, succeeding Vicky Carwein.
The trained chemist currently is senior adviser for entrepreneurship and economic development to the president at the University of Texas at Arlington. His previous positions there include provost and vice president for academic affairs, and vice president for research and federal relations.
Purdue trustee Gary Lehman, who led the search committee, said Eisenbaumer is expected to strengthen IPFW's collaborations with the northeast Indiana community and to expand its educational impact in the region.
A realignment planned for 2018 will split IPFW's Purdue and IU programs.
