Builders filed 519 single-family construction permits in the nine-county area during the month—a 12 percent jump from the 462 permits that were filed in November 2016, BAGI said.
Monthly filings have risen on a year-over-year basis in all but two months this year and have fallen in only three of the past 28 months.
Area permit filings are up 7 percent so far this year compared with the first 11 months of 2016, from 5,403 to 5,777.
The area is on pace to have its biggest year in new-home sales since 2007, when 7,331 building permits were filed.
Permit filings jumped 21 percent in Marion County last month, from 85 in November 2016 to 103. Filings are up 14 percent in the country so far this year compared to the first 11 months of 2016.
Housing hotbed Hamilton County saw a 7 percent increase in filings in November, from 172 to 184.
Hendricks County filings slipped 9 percent, from 77 to 70.
Johnson County filings jumped 50 percent, to 54.
Hancock County filings rose 34 percent, to 47, and Boone County filings dropped by one, to 37.
Morgan County saw 11 filings and Shelby County reported eight.
Madison County saw filings decrease from six to five.
