The Indiana Department of Public Transportation said Tuesday that a stretch of southbound I-65 on the city’s northwest side will be closed just north of the I-465 interchange. Traffic will be diverted via I-465 South or I-865 East.
In addition, I-65 will be closed in both directions between the Meridian Street exit (Exit 113) and 21st Street exit (Exit 115) in downtown Indianapolis.
The entrance and exit ramps at the Dr. Martin Luther King St./West St. interchange (exit 114) will be closed. The entrance ramp from 21st Street to northbound I-65 will remain open.
INDOT said the project is not part of the high-profile north-split interstate plan, which has drawn controversy.

Specific dates for the project won’t be announced until construction contracts are awarded this spring.
INDOT said it will conduct a public information meeting about the project at 5 p.m. Feb. 12 at INDOT's Indianapolis Sub-District building at 7105 S. Brookville Road.
