Indianapolis-based apartment developer Flaherty & Collins Properties has hired Kyra Rimsans as corporate counsel.

Rimsans comes from Barnes & Thornburg, where she was a partner.

Flaherty & Collins CEO David Flaherty said in a statement that Rimsans “brings tremendous experience and will be a great asset for us as we continue to grow and pursue more complex, mixed-use, public-private partnerships.”

Rimsans’ law degree is from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. She spent 10 years at Barnes & Thornburg.

This year, Rimsans was recognized by The Best Lawyers in America in the area of real estate law.

“I look forward to devising creative solutions which facilitates transactions and furthers the company’s vision to continue to grow,” she said in a statement.

Flaherty & Collins operates in about a dozen states.

Its portfolio includes more than 100 properties and more than 15,000 apartment units.•
