BitLoft, a local technology development firm, has expanded its central Indiana footprint with an additional 7,200-square foot location in Carmel.

BitLoft now has two offices—an original office just north of the 96th and Meridian streets intersection and another at 136th and Meridian streets in Carmel.

The opening of the new office—where the firm’s game development team will be located—has created 10 new jobs and will support the growth of the BitLoft brand portfolio, including BitLoft Game Studios, Player One Esports, and Evolve Youth Gaming, company officials said. BitLoft has added a combination of technical and creative talent and is still hiring.

BitLoft, which has been experiencing year-over-year growth of 30% to 50% in the last four years, now has 50 full-time employees, company officials said.

“We have continued to grow and diversify over the past year and are seeing positive indicators both economically and within our business units, so it makes sense to invest in people and space now,” Tom Stoughton, BitLoft founder and president, said in a statement.

The company was founded as A Simple Reminder LLC in 2009 and focused primarily on text messaging services and digital marketing. As the company diversified, it re-branded in 2017, now focusing on web site and app development, video production and video game development.

While the company’s business is divided nearly evenly among the three divisions, Travis Lynch, BitLoft executive vice president of business development, said the video production division is growing the fastest.

“That’s somewhat surprising,” Lynch told IBJ. He explained that the video production division was originally started to support the game development division, which currently is focused on educational video games that align with school curriculum.

“What we found is there’s a fair amount of demand for corporate video production,” Lynch said. BitLoft has handled video work for a number of tech companies and organizations including this year’s TechPoint Mira Awards.

“We’re seeing a lot of growth across the entire portfolio,” Lynch added.

The company, which is self-funded, has an array of clients including Beyond Monumental (organizer of the Monumental Marathon), Wheaton Van Lines, city of Carmel, Allen County Courts and the Indiana Pacers.
