Subscribe NowRon Gifford, a partner at the Indianapolis law firm Baker & Daniels LLP, has been chosen as president and CEO of Indy Partnership, the organization that markets 10 counties in the region to businesses looking to expand.
The Central Indiana Corporate Partnership appointed Gifford to succeed Gordon Hendry, who announced in September he would be stepping down. Gifford begins the new job Dec. 1.
Hendry is joining CB Richard Ellis, a commercial real estate firm, as director of asset services. He begins Feb. 1.
The announcements were released this morning by Indy Partnership, which merged into the not-for-profit Central Indiana Corporate Partnership in June.
“We evaluated several candidates, local and national, and Ron was the unanimous choice,” Mark Miles, chairman of the Indy Partnership executive committee and president of CICP, said in a statement. “In our work together at CICP, I’ve seen his passion for making the region a better place to do business. … In some cases, he’s helped craft the legislation creating our most effective economic development tools, so it’s natural that he’ll be able to put them to good use.”
