The rule, passed March 25, would let Nestle construct a 45-foot-tall, 3-D replica of the Nestle NesQuik rabbit leaning against a 40-foot-tall glass of chocolate milk. The company has built a $360 million plant that will employ about 300 workers who will make ready-to-drink milk products and CoffeeMate creamer.
Hoosier Park also wants an 85-foot Las Vegas-style sign, complete with flashing lights and video screens to sit on Interstate 69. The massive size and design for that sign makes it fall under a different ordinance.
Anderson officials believe allowing the use of large, iconic signs could help lure other companies to the Madison County city.
