PlantCML, headquartered in Temecula, Calif., was owned by Golden Gate Capital, a private equity fund in San Francisco.
EADS North America is based in Arlington, Va., and is an arm of aerospace and defense giant EADS, or European Defence and Space Co. EADS is headquartered in the Netherlands.
Reverse 911 was started by Indianapolis entrepreneur Al Langsenkamp and was part of an Indianapolis company called Sigma Communications LLC.
Reverse 911 is an emergency notification system that allows law enforcement and other public agencies to send telephone alerts about crime and other issues. It was used by the city of Arlington, Va., to notify residents about the Sept. 11 terrorist attack on the Pentagon.
Reverse 911 has fewer than 50 workers in Indianapolis, but none are slated to be laid off as a result of the acquisition, an EADS spokesman said.
