As the blind leads the blind, and tries to reinvent the wheel, nothing will change and the word ethics will continue to be a word, and all the actions by elected folks will continue to be the daily choice, ethical or not.
In the “real world” I was required to report any and all potential conflicts of interest, was prohibited from all gifts including meals, tickets, etc. Most of which were put in place by laws that the politicians seem to have been exempted from. As always, a pen from a drug rep could influence a provider but they are immune from from being influenced by gifts, trips, etc. because they are politicians.
