  1. Republicans in Indiana should be as “non-partisan” on drawing Congressional districts as Democrats were in Massachusetts, Illinois, Delaware, California, etc. Those who say its a “power grab” are right….and it could backfire on Indiana Republicans. But, for some reason, the same “power grabs” never seem to hurt the Democrats. If the Democrat Party wasn’t so hateful toward America, I’d probably be against this. However, it’s time to put this hate-filled, evil party onto the dust-bin of history!

    1. The guy advocating for his party to seize absolute power against the will of half the country thinks it’s that half who “hate America.” Deplorable isn’t a strong enough word

  2. As predicted, Republicans folding right on schedule. In their defense, it’s probably been explained by the Trump Administration that statehouse Republicans in Indiana have two choices
    1) Submit and do Trump’s will, constituent feedback regardless
    2) Lose all that federal funding that we’re reliant on as a state.

    1. You don’t think they are drawing the maps using computers that have been crunching the numbers based on SEVERAL elections, not just those with Trump on the ballot? Every district is going to be +10 Republican. The Indianapolis area will be carved up into multiple districts, as will any county that is less than 60% Republican. Indiana will be a state drawn to represent the interests and to favor the parts of Indiana that are dying off and no one wants to live. (Think I’m harsh? Go look at the Census results.)

You can throw all their quotes from 2021 back at them about how their maps are superior to the gerrymandering of Illinois, and you can threaten to vote them out all day. But until that actually happens, they’ve got nothing to worry about.

  3. Trump complains about “rigged” elections (but only those that he lost.
Now back in office he has become an unapologetic advocate for rigged elections that would favor Republicans with more gerrymandered districts.
Will Indiana legislators become willing accomplices in the scheme?

  4. Redistricting is a stupid idea for Indiana. The state is not very likely pick up another GOP seat due to backlash from more centrist republicans, many of whom are against such a partisan maneuver. Nationwide, His Highness has had some decent policy implementations that were sorely needed, however, this is not one of them which should be attempted for this State.

  5. Republicans gave away a Senate Seat ! TRUMP Senator Jim Banks . . So why not surrender any semblance of representing your constituents over kowtowing to TRUMP’s desires !

    1. You have to think this because to do otherwise would force you to confront your support for an authoritarian who hates you and only loves money.

  6. “The bill before you today is a result of a careful, collaborative effort and I believe it will serve our state well in the decade ahead,” Koch said during Senate debate on Oct. 1, 2021. So he either lied about that statement or is lying about his new stance on the very document he created and endorsed. Either way, he is a typical politician.
