I used to drive by Belmont Beach daily, There is no way that will ever be turned into a true park & beach,
The size and location prohibit any true ideal transformation into a nice park.
Largely shelved? Since the Vision Plan was released Indy Parks transformed a former golf course into Riverside Adventure Park, opened a new Broad Ripple Park Family Center, Fishers Parks opened the new Fishers White River Park, Carmel completed an extension of the White River Greenway, Hamilton County Parks added land to Potters Bridge, Frank’s Paddlesports became Indys first canoe/kayak rental, the new Pleasant Street Bridge with river murals and the Midland Trace Trail opened in Noblesville, Indy completely restored the iconic 30th Street Bridge while starting the new iconic Henry Street Bridge, Conner Prairie reopened with river focused exhibits and new riverfront trails, and the Indy Art Center broke ground on it’s revamp of it’s riverfront ArtsPark. The idea we can have a national Park scale amenity is growing, complete with White Riverway national Park inspired branding for every park and attraction live.
