  1. They are in this position because of the incompitence of this administration for starting a war with poor planning and no exit plan. Hegseth is a joke and needs to be removed!

  2. Come on, the airlines mentioned have a broken business plan and sub par service thus not a lot of cash nor forward looking relief.

I counter, roll up all three mentioned, dump 2/3rds of salaried management who created this mess (not employees under $75k nor hourly) let leases on old air craft expire, shore up reserves and roll w new operational efficiencies.

Asking us to pay their gas bill is a stopgap and will not fix the underlying issue.

  3. Your business plan is failing. It’s now up to the management to figure out your own exit plan or find a sugar daddy. I hope Trump says no to public loans.

    1. Amen. The flying-bus strategy of ULCCs has never made sense and these companies should simply disappear as their many many predecessors have.

  4. Can we please discuss business and not bring in politics, it’s a cop-out. Also, this is the IBJ, not IPJ.

Granted, current policies have a play, but let’s stay with the business side of the discussion.

    1. Come on man. The federal government bailing out an industry is inherently political.

  5. Michael N. – agreed and I stated same above(“Granted…), and you are free to run in the political lane. My request was to acknowledge the geopolitical impact, then move on to business as when these conversations focus on politics, they tend to end up in shouting matches.

Chris- yeah, did not think about creating a massive TBTF entity. Right now looks like that may occur w/ United and American.
