  1. “Consumers are planning ahead” & “swapping impulse buys for strategy” Nooo, No, No. Using buy now pay later services is not “strategic” or “planning ahead” it is actually quite the opposite – taking on unnecessary debt at potentially usurious interest levels when you miss the payments (20-35%). Who are the people writing such articles shilling for these parasitic financial groups? Actual financial strategies for planning future purchases would include something like putting a small percentage of each paycheck into a HYSA for gift purchases, setting a maximum budget that is within your means, or buying certain items during their “off” season. But No, as long as the line is going up and to the right nobody in media cares that the average family is enslaving themselves to consumer debt – now made easier by the shiny new BNPL ! Strategy !

  2. I agree with Christopher T. BNPL is lipstick on the going further into debt PIG. They have credit cards…just use those vs handing your money over to these BNPL firms which are just cousins to payday lending, and auto title lending.

I will say one thing…marketing does work! BNPL…lipstick on a pig
