Such a waste of time for Indiana legislators. They are being “played” by the Bears and the announcement of a deal to keep the team in Illinois will “shock” the NW Indiana politicians. The area needs investment, but bending over backwards and adding a slew of taxes that will never be able to support the costs is a waste of time and resources better directed at attracting long-term, viable industries.
I mentioned this when it was first brought up that Halas Hall was part of the deal. Moving all that to Indiana would have killed the idea for sure when all the players and management live on the luxury northside of Chicago. Adding an extra 60 minute commute to work and practice or forcing them to move would have been a no go. Meanwhile, All the people who say the fans all come from the Northwest side are the single minded people live there. The Bears are not the Cubs. They have broad appeal all over Chicagoland and across the state of Illinois as well as northern Indiana.
