  1. Some ideas from a Near-Eastsider:

    1. Dense, affordable housing (obviously)
    2. Retail including restaurants, small market, primary care facility, etc
    2. A park with splash pad or small pool to keep area kiddo’s cool in the summer heat.
    3. Native plant focused landscaping to minimize turf grass and keep maintenance costs low
    4. Mixed use trails to connect neighborhoods on either side
    5. Community center with a gym, basketball court, etc.
    6. Pickleball courts and/or tennis courts

    1. +1 We really need a “neighborhood village” with more small business frontage along E. Michigan Street.

    2. With the 2 way conversions on Michigan and New York, the infrastructure is in place to extend the retail density of Mass Ave into the near Eastside. Places like King Dough and NSP, Yazsh, GravesCo, etc are proof of concept that the community would rally to support them.

  2. We’ve had this discussion for at least 2+ years now, how long can this administration keep waffling and putting off any real proposal or solutions!! Maybe they should do a Spark on the Prison to pacify themselves!

    1. As somebody who actually lives nearby, the city should take as much time as it needs to make sure this development is thoroughly thought through and not half-assed. What’s the rush?

Having a component like Spark on the Circlebis a great idea. I’d add that to my list above. Good to hear there’s a fellow fan of their work on the circle!
