So, for LOF: $7.5M for improved Wi-Fi out of a total of $9.4 million in improvements in 2026, with most of the balance being spent on items like food service areas, a dishwasher, an x-ray machine and safety barriers. Not much to get excited about.
Lucas could really use a few cosmetic upgrades to keep up with all the “Joneses” out there building or about to build new stadiums, some with enclosed roofs. Speaking of which, maybe a translucent roof to replace the one we have now that is so often closed, rarely open, and sometimes not working at all. Is that financially doable? While we’re at it and throwing ideas on the wall — that whole area could use some kind of landscaping, a few trees and green areas, especially in the south lot. It looks like a barren wasteland, more so in the winter. In this new era of building “villages” around stadiums, Lucas Oil feels far-removed from the city/streets/sidewalks — even though it’s right in the city. It’s a leviathan with little connectivity to the surrounding neighborhoods of mostly bleak, pre-fab, abandoned buildings, and a couple motels that look like standard fare along a busy interstate exchange. Food for thought.

Omg I agree with everything you’ve stated. The roof situation is beyond explanation. Why have the ability if you’re not going to use it. There should also be more trees and water features around the stadium as you mentioned. It’s looking terribly outdated by todays standards
I’ve been clamoring for a sports village around LOS for years. It’s frustrating that there’s been virtually no meaningful development around the stadium. It’s a gorgeous stadium and then you walk out to asphalt, a post office and warehouses.
Isn’t that the fallacy of NFL stadiums? Can it support restaurants and retail based upon 8 or 9 Sundays a year?
