  1. This helps, but only nibbles away at the margins as the article suggests. People need to get behind the idea of an even more restrictive means-testing; a much higher cap on income subject to SS tax: considering subjecting other types of non-earned income to SS; a very gradual increase in the FRA but only for those about 20 years from retirement so they can adjust their planning (and maybe waiving the later FRA for people who work in heavy labor).
