Boomers are passing off the burden of the national debt to their children and grandchildren because they’ll be long dead when its time to pay the pied piper, so why would they care? The same is true at the local level while they cling to their McMansions’ that have 10x’ed in value but cry about the burden of property taxes. Downsize, boomer.
Gen X bears much of the blame as well
Boomers?!? It’s the stupid Republican tax breaks. Low taxes for the rich is just idiotic. Republicans have been feeding us this garbage about how low taxes is going to trickle down to everybody. Guess what? With 40 years of selling this load of garbage, the rich get richer, and nothing trickles down while the deficit soars.
Boomers are always the problem. Both sides spend more than they should and the train is impossible to stop. It’ll crash while the boomers are alive though! Looking forward to the insanity!
Boomers are the ones who benefitted from massive government spending on their early lives and pulled the ladder up after themselves. Total lack of respect for their elders.
Boomers benefited from the wisdom of President Eisenhower to have higher taxes on the wealthy and investing in education and science. The promise by Reagan and others that tax cuts could “trickle down” have proven to only to benefit the wealthy. Our country is reaping the misery that these bad policies have created
