As a subscriber you can listen to articles at work, in the car, or while you work out. Subscribe NowAgriNovus Indiana, the nonprofit focused on the growth of Indiana’s agbioscience sector, has selected Christy Wright as its next president and CEO, the organization announced Monday.
Wright most recently served as director of global food systems for Indianapolis-based Corteva Agriscience.
During her tenure at Corteva, Wright also held leadership roles on the company’s global food chain crop protection and advocacy teams, AgriNovus said. She brings 15 years of experience in the food and agriculture space, including more than seven years at Dow AgroSciences.
“Indiana has a unique opportunity to lead at every stage of the value chain, bringing innovation to market that solves some of our most pressing challenges,” Wright said in a news release. “I am ready to get to work alongside our partners, emerging innovators and a talented AgriNovus team to drive continued success and collaboration that addresses the needs of the farmer, the climate, the consumer and beyond.”
Wright will begin her new role on Aug. 18.
She succeeds Mitch Frazier, who stepped down from the position in June to become president of IBJ Media, the parent of IBJ, Inside INdiana Business and The Indiana Lawyer.
Wright earned her bachelor’s and master’s degree from Indiana University and is a graduate of the Indiana AgriInstitute’s Agriculture Leadership Program. She is also a trustee of the Indiana Chapter of The Nature Conservancy.
“Christy’s expertise uniquely positions her to lead AgriNovus into its next chapter,” said Melina Kennedy, CEO of the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership, the parent of AgriNovus. “As the organization continues its efforts to grow the agbioscience industry, her leadership will be vital to a sector that is critical to Indiana’s success.”
Wright is set to host the next AgriNovus Quadrant event on Aug. 20 in Indianapolis.
