Idea: modify the Indiana constitution so out of state landlords do not have a 3% cap on the assessed value of their commercial property. If they want to hold the site as an eyesore because it’s so valuable, let them pay for it.

There may indeed be some crappy pizza near the Fry’s wasteland, Murray, but one of the absolute best and busiest pizza places in the whole Indy area is just a mile north and across the interstate: I Tre Mori. Definitely worth a visit.

Why not put a true entertainment district there? All those tech jobs, families, sport and concert venues and people still need some thing to do. I would suggest a major in door water park like Kalahari Indoor Water Park. There needs to be more major attractions in Indys metro period. Something sophisticated and modern. Nothing cheap and casual but something that the entire metro and visitors alike can really enjoy. Indy’s metro is missing a major water park or amusement park.
There’s a brand new major water park along US31 in Sheridan.

I have worked near this location for 17 years. The picture they are painting of it’s “difficult” location is false. It needs to be an antique mall. Right off an interstate and near a Cracker Barrel.

Classic Fishers, squandering high-value real estate while building sprawl sprawl sprawl to the edges of the county.
It’s almost like the Genie’s lament in “Aladdin”: prominent interstate visibility, pain in the *** to get to.
Is Fishers getting property taxes while restricting the possibilities on the properties? Fishers need stay out of way, they create more problems than their “just say no” policy to development solve.
Fadness aggressively crushed any chance of a rail transit corridor that could have alleviated some of I=69’s congestion. He also enjoys the benefits of two teams in Fishers named after the city he otherwise does everything in his power to disassociate from. So it’s interesting to see his Fishers only perfectionism backfire on him with a highly visible property.
There a few problems in the tax laws that make sitting on vacant property attractive. The first one is as soon as a building is empty the owner files an appeal to claim it’s over assessed. The second one has to do with Federal taxes a loop hole that make the building almost as valuable as a write-off as selling would be.
