  1. “I don’t want to see a theocracy. I don’t want to see government turn into a substitute church.”

    That’s adorable.

“Mike’s a quarterback; I’m the wide receiver. And I got a job to do—I’m not trying to be quarterback,” Beckwith said. “He’s the quarterback of the team, he’s calling the plays, but we’re all in the huddle together.”

In Indiana, the lieutenant governor has been more like a lineman – most people only hear their names when they mess up and commit a penalty or get burned for a sack.

Wide receiver is perhaps the position with the most divas and players causing problems because they’re bigger than the team.

Maybe Beckwith should have stayed in the pulpit.

  2. This dude will be as bad as that lieutenant governor in North Carolina. This guy’s dangerous. The people of IN should demand that we continue to enforce the separation of church and state, that is the foundation of this country. We don’t want to turn into Gilead. All these pseudo-Christians won’t be satisfied until they have complete control over every aspect of all citizens’ lives.

  3. OMG, this guy is dangerous and needs to be removed as Braun’s running mate. The Republic nomimating committee did us no favors placing this right wing into a position of power. He is the last thing we need “leading” our legislature as the focus needs to be on governing and not his personal religious tangent.

    1. Republicans like Beckwith and Diego Morales are the folks that Indiana Republican delegates want in positions of power, responsibility, and leadership.

So think again if you think this is just a phase for Indiana Republicans. This is the future.

  4. I sure hope a very old Mike Braun (70 and average American male life span is 74) lives another 4 years and that he has the energy to keep Beckwith hidden in the background.

But I’m pretty sure most Indiana voters will be too ignorant to realize they are voting for a MAGA Christian Nationalist and will just be looking at the “R” next to the name on the ballot.
