Is this suppose to be a good thing? It seemed Bailey was a pretty good cop. The fact that the state needs to take over law enforcement downtown pretty much tells you everything what incompetent boobs the Dems are.
Or, maybe it’s indicative of the right’s veer into straight up war against the citizens of this country. Crime is way down across the country, but it’s never been about crime for the Grand Ole Nazi party. It’s about power and control and retribution for made up injustices
You should read 1984 and sit with it for a few hours. Reflect.
It could also tell you that Senator Michael Young, the senator behind that takeover bill, is maybe not exactly tuned into reality these days.
Because this is the same Young who quit the Republican caucus because they dared have rape/incest provisions in the state’s zero second abortion law … and who went on to claim the recent redistricting bill had majority support from the Senate Republican caucus … when, turns out, a majority of Senate Republicans voted against the bill.
It’s not at all surprising that Indiana has Democrats ruling the city when the opposition is “Marion County” Republicans like Young. Maybe instead of whining about the Democrats, demand competence from Republicans?
The State doesn’t need to do a single thing. Crime in Indianapolis is below pre-COVID (2019) levels. Downtown itself has always stood out as one of Indy’s safest neighborhoods, which you would know if you were capable of understanding rate statistics.
Everything I heard is that the department mostly supported Bailey. But the is a great deal of concern about who the next chief will be. Just feels like Joe won’t be able to stay away from his liberal string pullers DEI requirements.
Make this make sense.
Chris was a Republican Ward Chairman for me in Franklin Township during the early 2000’s.
Brains. Integrity. Great guy. Good choice.
Assistant IMPD Chief Catherine Cummings would be an excellent choice to follow Chris Bailey as the next IMPD Chief. She like Chris, also has a proven record of outstanding leadership in her many previous and current IMPD department roles during her 25 plus years of dedicated service to our community.
