He always comes up with the dumbest legislation, and he always kicks and screams when he inevitably loses. He really just needs to resign.

Gotta love the “no customer’s would want them” statement by a hemp industry representative. The idea some legislators actually think they can control potency of marijuana is a joke, we all want the higher potency and wouldn’t buy the lower. Regulation with % potency required on the label is how it works. Would we buy liquor and beer if our Legislature decided we could only buy under 3% alcohol? Hello Michigan, and Illinois, we’re back.

How much extra would it actually cost to allow early voting for 28 days instead of 16? Aren’t many of the poll workers unpaid volunteers? In any event, there’s seldom a reason to restrict voting other to disenfranchise certain voters. You can guess which kind of voter.
The other story linked here says “Of the 1.4 million early ballots cast in the 2024 general election, about 300,000 came during the days proposed for elimination.” “Gaskill didn’t allow any public testimony on the amendment.” Last year’s attempt was to shorten it from 28 days to 14. This year’s version was 16 days. “Gaskill called his proposal for a 16-day early voting period a compromise from last year’s 14-day proposal.’ That’s a joke. A compromise of just 2 days more than last year’s halving, which didn’t muster enough support to pass? “…folks that do have concerns about election integrity with a longer period of early voting..” As usual, don’t bother supplying any evidence that this is a problem.
