Braun is probably our worst governor of all time, and it’s only been a year.
Braun has absolutely destroyed DNR. They were, arguably, our State’s best agency and one of our best assets. I could rely on DNR for so much and their doors were always open. Until Braun trashed it, there was a plan to have an open-access DNR office on the Canal, which would have provided all kinds of resources to people.
Braun sucks. Get him out.
Is this another “run it like a business” idea by Braun? He still doesn’t understand the purpose of government is different than the purpose of business.
He’s also a nepobaby who doesn’t actually know how to run a business.
A reminder that Mike Braun decided these credentials made Alan Morrison the best fit as Indiana Director of Natural Resources:
“Morrison also previously worked for the Flint Generals, a minor league hockey team in Flint, Michigan, and for Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute. He attended Slippery Rock University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree, and later attended Indiana State University for his master’s degree, both in sport management.”
Sounds more like sour grapes and the old guard still wanting control. A change and/or shake up of members is always good for boards and commissions. 20+ years on the commission is way more than enough, glad they resigned so they wouldn’t be forced to leave.
I just wish the DNR and Indiana Government understood that we want/need outdoor recreation in Indiana. Look what Michigan and even Ohio has done with their embrace of outdoor recreation. We were just up in Michigan last weekend to mountain bike the Dragon Trail in Michigan. Our tourism dollars are being spent outside the state we reside in…Sad really.
Braun and company are more interested in building highways and data centers, while giving our tax dollars away to sports teams for luxury suites that only the rich and well connected can afford. Stewardship of what is left of our natural beauty is not a priority for Indiana and frankly never really has been compared to many other states.
