The easiest thing for visitors (and a way to encourage Indy residents to start riding) would be to allow them to just tap with their credit card or Apple/Google Pay on their devices.
If they’re requiring an app, a big miss.
At least they are advancing the technology to a 2010 level
The article said tap to pay from multiple sources would work. I sounds like credit cards will work as well.
I’ve heard that tap to pay with normal credit cards is coming, just a little later on. This is a transition step.
Agree with Joe: an app or a proprietary tap card is ridiculous when you can pay literally everywhere else by tapping the card of your choice.
The proprietary card might be necessary for the unbanked population…but “choice” riders locally and visiting will be carrying their own cards.
They will! That’s tap-to-pay. That will roll out later this year. Anyone will be able to use Apple Pay, Google Pay, or their tap-enabled debit or credit card.
Why in the world they don’t just use a tap and go system like Apple pay is crazy. Who want’s another app, especially out of towners.
That’s what this is. It gives a multitude of payment options, including Apple Pay.
You mean I have less than three months to burn off the $7.50 I left on my MyKey app when I moved away from Indy?
