So the Governor gets a 65% pay raise and our other state employees get none? Not surprising…just sad.
AND a helipad.
That’s absolutely garbage.
The state needs good and loyal employees, and it will lose all of them if of can’t compensate fairly.
Not if you can replace them with contractors supplied via a no-bid deal with a donor who wrote a big campaign check.

A friend that works for FSSA said they were told the State was no longer going to provide office supplies. That should save a few dollars but will cost thousands of dollars in new hires and training. Great idea.
I’m not sure it’s been said out loud, but a plank in the Republican Party Platform is to make sure government is failing and ineffective, they call it “cutting waste and fraud”. Personally I like things like reliable weather forecasts, and calls to the IRS answered in a timely fashion.

You’re much better off working directly for the state than contractors.
Contractors can be ruthless and abusive.
… which is why the State would rather replace their workforce with them. Benefits? Healthcare? Sure, baked into the cost, but not the State’s problem!
This is absolutely ridiculous. Braun gifts himself a helipad and a helicopter while the people who do the actual work to keep this State afloat get nothing. This is a direct result of Republican demonizing civil servants and slashing taxes with reckless abandon.
Adding to 2026/28 Democratic talking points. On the backs of dedicated state employees. Shameful.
Can’t give our employees pay raises bc government officials need private helipads, new highways, and fully loaded luxury SUVs. Maybe next year
