Lawrence-based software firm Schneider Geospatial LLC, whose employee base has more than doubled over the past three years, is continuing that growth trajectory with its recent acquisition of Boston-based Full Circle Technologies Inc.
Schneider has 113 employees, more than half of whom are based in (or report to) Indianapolis. The company also has an office in Iowa. That employee count includes eight people who joined the company via the Full Circle acquisition, which closed on Aug. 11.
Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Schneider is a software-as-a-service provider whose platform is used by more than 1,000 state and local governments across the U.S. Its Indiana customer base—53 entities in all—includes the town of Avon; the cities of Greenfield and Valparaiso; and Hancock, Monroe and Eklhart counties.
Customers can use Schneider’s platform to handle online permitting and licensing activities; manage municipal assets such as water systems, sidewalks and vehicle fleets; and consolidate real estate parcel information into a single online database.
Full Circle provides cloud-based permitting and licensing software for local governments.
Schneider’s Vice President of Marketing, Landon Ortiz, said the Full Circle acquisition was a way for Schneider to expand the permitting and licensing part of its business. It also allowed Schneider to pick up the 100 or so New England customers that Full Circle had served.
“We’ve been growing our customer base in the New England region. And so that was really significant for us—the addition of those 100 or so customers up there,” Ortiz said. “It just really strengthened our position.”
Full Circle is the fifth acquisition for Schneider since 2022, when Schneider received what it described at the time as a significant growth investment from private equity firm Align Capital Partners. Align has offices in Dallas and in Shaker Heights, Ohio. The amount of that growth investment was not disclosed.
At the time of the Full Circle investment, Schneider had 50 employees.
Ortiz said Schneider’s headcount growth since 2022 has come from a combination of the five acquisitions, plus hiring new employees. He said the company is actively hiring now and plans to expand its office by the end of the year because it has outgrown its current space.
Schneider is located on the campus of what was previously Fort Benjamin Harrison. Ortiz said the company plans to remain in its current location and expand within that building.
