  1. Sad but not surprised to see that theatre closing. Now many on the north side will essentially have to drive 10 or more miles to see a movie just so we can add to the apartment blight situation.

  2. Looks nice. The movie theater was old and outdated. It reached the end of its useful service life a long time ago. I’m actually really pleased to see an old mall be gradually transitioned into a semi-walkable neighborhood district.

    1. Erica, you mean Glendale has “no connectivity except the street grid, full sidewalks on both sides of each street, and buslines”? For Indy, it’s pretty well connected for pedestrians, IndyGo riders, and cyclists.

  3. Looks like they have chosen split-face CMU blocks for the ground floor exterior veneer. That’s not an attractive or good product for this. Ages poorly too. Short lintels atop the ground floor windows read as cheap and structurally fake, like the budget didn’t quite cover the last eight inches of material. Together, these things say “weak budget + design mistakes.” Makes it look more bargain bin instead of a real neighborhood. Can we get some actual real brick here, PLEASE?
