I hope the judge tosses the part against Fox sports, there’s no way they should be held responsible for this guy’s actions.
Fox is the only reason the alleged assailant was in Indianapolis. Of course they face possible civil liability here.
Guessing Rea is confusing Fox Sports for Fox News. I would bet Rea’s next paycheck that Sanchez expensed his dinner and drinks and there is zero question he was in town on behalf of Fox, so yes, they are responsible for their employee’s actions
I hope he takes Fox for multi millions. I expect the worst from “journalists” but their reaction has been stunning. Prayers for our criminal employee who was injured! (Which, btw, was also the reaction from the idiot governor)
The proper reaction should have been painfully obvious: fire your criminal employee for cause, apologize profusely to the person your employee injured, cover all medical expenses, give home a nice stipend, and oh, btw, please sign here that you won’t sue us
Who needs a trial or proceeding when we have Chuck W. to make all judgements.
Chuck W, re this comment:
“I would bet . . . that Sanchez expensed his dinner and drinks and there is zero question he was in town on behalf of Fox, so yes, they are responsible for their employee’s actions.”
No doubt the first part of your statement is true – Sanchez was in town to announce the Colts game for Fox Sports.
However, the last part of your statement does not necessarily follow from the first. Willful, intentional, and criminal actions of an employee – almost by definition – are not actions taken in the course and scope of that person’s employment and should not – in and of themselves – subject his employer to liability.
If, however, evidence emerges that Sanchez had a propensity for public intoxication and violent behavior while on the road as a Fox Sports announcer and did nothing about it while continuing to put him in that position, then Fox Sports would have liability exposure.
As usual, lots of calls for this or that outcome with little knowledge of the actual facts.
Sue all those Magamutt clowns!
