  1. 300 jobs …
    full or part-time?
how many are technical vs. facility support?
    average salary?
How many require the employee to physically work at the facility?

It’s impossible to say that the data center will “contribute more than it consumes” without knowing the jobs info, given the massive state (no sales taxes, no taxes on the energy purchased) and local tax incentives this facility got.

  2. At a public meeting this week, it was discussed that LEAP’s enormous amount of wastewater will be discharged to Eagle creek reservoir (wastewater is not typically discharged in large quantities into reservoirs, usually to rivers). Marion Co waterways will be the primary sources for the enormous water needs of this Boone Co project. That might a project engineer discussed that Boone Co sources of water were considered (including the development of a new reservoir) but deemed too expensive. Marion Co residents don’t want our waterways disrupted for this project on which Boone Co officials have not been very transparent. Marion Co residents would be grateful if you covered the water needs of the LEAP project more thoroughly.

  3. Folks, settle down! It’s a plus at least for the next five years…I’m concerned with the next use when these become obsolete.

However, the water can, should and will be RECYCLED!!!!

    1. If the water issue is no big deal, then why doesn’t Boone Co want to create a reservoir for their project? Firstly tried to access water from the Lafayette area and that was shut down. Now they want to access water from Marion Co.

Boone Co, it costs money to make money. Marion Co residents don’t want their parks and water resources impacted nor their yards dug up for the massive pipelines that are needed for this.
