Basically Republican platform is to scare people about immigrants, trans people and cities (Indy in indiana’s case) to get the votes and then cut health care, women’s rights, education, environmental regulations, taxes on ultra wealthy and of course anything dear leader wants/needs. They are absolute embarrassment.
If you want universal healthcare, be ready to pay for it. Everyone will pay and should pay.
But even in societies where there is universal healthcare, many still carry private healthcare insurance also.

Our individual life styles are not nearly as healthy as the Europeans.

There a reason why Canadians with the financial means come to the U.S. for testing, procedures, and major surgeries.
I personally do not want the government in charge of health care.
We pay the most but we’ve also got the best.
Twice as many people smoke in Europe than the US and they get better outcomes than us. Meanwhile, here in the United States, you navigate a maze of pre-approvals and must seek permission from insurance to do anything.
We don’t have the best healthcare in the world by any measure. If it was so great, we wouldn’t have people cheering at the public execution of an insurance CEO.
