And reset the IURC. Zay’s fight and tantrums of being forced out by the governor seems to indicate your allegations are correct. Time will tell if it functions better in the future.
Although NIPSCo has lost power to over 60% of its customers in a single 100 MPH wind storm, that was compounded by their own inadequacies of vegetation management, similar to our own AES lack of vegetation management in the heavily wooded inner city. The single biggest outage causes here and around the country have been trees taking down power lines. Of course in Lake County NIPSCo crews have been targeted by local gunfire which hurts the repair, upkeep and management of the system.
KEVIN P. is correct when it comes to vegetation management aka tree trimming. Here in Indy, AES does anything and everything to make it look like it is the customer’s fault. More than half the time when I am trying to trim the branches I am “responsible” for I can’t adequately get to them because AES never trims the trees in surrounding my lot.
They may also want to sue their neighbors who were stripping the trucks of their tools and shooting at the crews.
Isn’t it odd that Nate Feltman and the rest of the “journalists” completely buried that story?
To be fair, it sounds like repair operations were paused less than 24 hours, so that is not the reason for the 10 days and counting.
It also seems like having to deploy armed State Troopers (shoutout taxpayers) to protect workers trying to turn the lights back on, would qualify as News, but not when the story doesn’t fit the preset agenda and your Democrat Daddy’s don’t approve the content.
