A former state representative avoided further jail time by pleading guilty on Wednesday to misrepresenting himself as a
lawmaker. Dennie Oxley Jr., last year’s Democratic candidate for Indiana lieutenant governor, was found intoxicated at a gas
station in June. He was not a state representative at the time, but tried to tell police he had immunity from arrest because
he was a lawmaker. He received a one-year suspended sentence.
