Purdue names interim Krannert School dean

Jerry Lynch, a professor of economics and academic director of the master’s and executive education programs at Purdue University’s Krannert School of Management, will become the school’s interim dean July 1, Purdue announced Thursday morning.

Meanwhile, Purdue officials are broadening their 10-month search for a permanent dean for the Krannert School.

Purdue officials hope to have a permanent dean in place no later than next spring, said Timothy Sands, executive vice president for academic affairs and provost.
“The search will expand to attract a broader pool of candidates than an earlier search,” Sands said.

Krannert Dean Richard Cosier announced in August 2009 that he would step down July 1, 2010. Cosier will continue as Purdue’s Leeds Professor of Management and as co-director of the Burton D. Morgan Center for Entrepreneurship.

Lynch has been at Purdue since 1982. He previously served as associate dean for programs and student services, and as associate dean of the German International School of Management and Administration, Krannert's international outreach MBA program in Hanover, Germany. His specialty areas are monetary theory and policy, macroeconomics, and international trade and finance.
