Former Ivy Tech Community College executive vice president Carol D’Amico has been named president and CEO of Central Indiana Corporate Partnership’s new advanced manufacturing and logistics initiative.
Sources this morning confirmed that CICP will announce D’Amico’s hire at a 4 p.m. news conference tomorrow on Rolls-Royce Corp.’s local manufacturing floor.
In March, Ivy Tech looked past D’Amico and hired Thomas J. Snyder to succeed President Gerald Lamkin, who is retiring June 30. Snyder is a former president of Delco International Corp., an auto parts supplier in Anderson.
CICP also will reveal the initiative’s brand name, board composition, industry membership and funding.
The initiative is modeled on the BioCrossroads initiative for the Indiana life science industry.
CICP is already the parent of BioCrossroads; and, thanks to a series of acquisitions during the last six months, also oversees the Techpoint initiative for the information technology sector, as well as Indy Partnership, which leads economic development efforts for central Indiana.
Indiana leaders expected to be on hand for the announcement tomorrow include Gov. Mitch Daniels, Snyder, Purdue University President Martin Jischke, Rolls-Royce Chief Operating Officer Steve Dwyer, and CICP CEO Mark Miles.
