Let them eat 50 year mortgages!
Can we all agree that Pulte builds the worst neighborhoods?
Unfortunately most all the national builders create lousy neighborhoods, as they must jam the homes in for maximum returns. The statement that these were downsized is hilarious!
I wouldn’t say the worst, but 100% agree there is no thought in them and they are terrible.
Yes, they’re trash
So much for solving the “affordability” crisis in housing. Is building a 2,500 sf three/four bedroom home a bad business decision, or just too small to make the builder filthy rich?
The article says the largest houses would be 3,000-5,000sf, it also says Pulte is looking to build smaller two story houses and ranches, I think its reasonable to assume those would be 2,500sf and under.
Zionsville’s tax base is out of balance, with far more residential then commercial building taking place. This has put the majority of the tax burden on the home owner. This is well understood by the town leadership but they continue to approve more and more residential with little to no commercial offset. Its time to stop building neighborhoods and start focusing on attracting more good quality commercial development.
There is only 1,000 new houses being built in this particular rural area so this one is obviously a dire need. But they will have a 1 1/4 mile walking trail AND a pickleball court, obviously the Plan commission unanimously agreed lol
“There’s going to be nice walkability in the community for everyone,” Ramage said.
There wouldn’t be a need for walkability for everyone if you didn’t over develop and bring in those people.
