Really hoping with the Simons purchasing that whole strip that it gets cleaned up and has some respectable establishments for once. Kilroys is the only halfway decent place over there and even it can get rowdy sometimes.
Indianapolis needs a downtown entertainment district. Simons could
be crucial in this quest.
I worked for a downtown hotel and was in constant contact with out of town tourist and international students that are enrolled at Indiana and Purdue Universities of Indianapolis.
The students want to leave Indianapolis as soon as they can. The common refrain is “ There’s nothing to do here. There’s.no night life entertainment district,
Same goes for the out of towners that
come here. They just want to leave Indy as soon as their function or convention is finished,
An entertainment district downtown should be fun and a way to build memories. At that point people will want to come back. Possibly to set up a business and or move here.
But the positive memories are key to bringing people back.
