I hope Sinclair prevails. Having 2 owners for all 5 TV outlets is bad news, regardless of intentions.
I agree that having two owners control our local TV stations is a bad thing. The only thing worse is having Sinclair control ANY of our TV stations. We don’t need national Sinclair propaganda on our airwaves.

Sinclair aspires to be the USAs version of Russian state sponsored news. Consolidation in media hurts us all.
Brad, I do not see how this would impact Scripts selling Ch 6 to Circle City. That is a separate deal already going through approval by FCC.
Yes Brad I do believe you are wrong. Sinclair may want to buy what’s left of Scripps, but WISH Channel 8, which IS locally-owned, had already made an offer to buy WRTV Channel 6, currently owned by Scripps. HOWEVER, if Nexstar’s proposal to buy the Tegna stations goes through, you would be correct, five local stations would be owned by two companies. Nexstar would own WTTV Channel 4 CBS, WXIN Channel 59 Fox, and WTHR Channel 13 NBC. That would be an incredible and at one time an unthinkable corporate media situation — one owner of three major network affiliates! Not good. The owner of WISH Channel 8, Circle City Broadcasting, which also owns WNDY, would own Channel 6 ABC. At least Circle City is local.
